ABOUT ABOUT

Being a zookeeper is all fun and games until you have to pick up animal poop constantly! If that doesn't scare your child away from this career path, then sign them up for Zookeeper Week II! This week, campers will focus on the ins and outs of being a zookeeper, how to grow in this profession, the different aspects of a zoo and how it runs, and more. They will also investigate further into husbandry, enrichment, diets, grooming, training, and keeper talks. With lots of games, crafts, animal care, and hands-on animal interaction, this week of camp will equip your child with the tools they need to cultivate their animal loving passion! This week will also feature a guest speaker, a real zookeeper, to come share their zoo experience. Please check out our this camps prerequisites below if you are interested in registering for this week of camp.

Any camper attending Zookeeper Week II must also attend at least one week of Conservation Curiosity, Survivalist Olympics, Superhero Senses OR Animal Kingdom. The second version of camps are much more hands-on and in depth. To ensure all campers can actively participate, it is vital that they have the prior experience from another week of camp. Thank you!

Our Summer Camps are recommended for youth entering grades first though sixth. Campers must come with a packed lunch, re-usable water bottle and any weather specific needs. Snack will be provided everyday. Must wear close-toed shoes.

Barn Nature Center Summer Camps offer youth the chance to get up close and personal with our over 60 rescued and re-homed animal residents. During our week-long programs, campers will embark on adventures filled with animals, science, games, arts and crafts and many other fun activities! Campers have the opportunity to become animal caretakers and will learn what it takes to keep our animal friends happy and healthy. They will assist our staff in the daily animal care, bathing, grooming, weighing, handling, and designing enrichment for our animals. We'll play interactive and educational games, work together to complete team building challenges, and even learn how to be an animal educator! Camp runs Monday - Friday from 9:00am - 3:00pm.

BEFORE AND AFTER CARE: This summer we will be offering the option to add before and aftercare. Early drop off is at 8:00am-8:45am for $15/child per day.
